We offer professional, turn-key radon management solutions from initial assessment to mitigation system installation. With an experienced professional engineer and radon measurement and mitigation professionals, we can determine the management strategy to fit your radon situation.
Radon is a clear, colourless, radioactive gas. It is generated by the radioactive decay of naturally occurring uranium in soil and bedrock. Radon in your home can be a problem. It is the second leading cause of lung cancer in Canada.
Any discontinuity in the foundation wall or slab presents a potential entry point for radon.
Radon intrusion is generally the greatest during the heating season. Warm air in the building rises drawing replacement air (potentially from subsurface) behind it. This stack effect, and closed building conditions during the heating season is why Health Canada recommends a long term test (minimum 90 days) between October and April.
It is the radioactive decay of radon that poses health issues. The decay of radon is measured in units of becquerels (Bq). A becquerel is one decay per second. The more radon, the higher the decays, the higher the becquerels. Health Canada has indicated that remedial measures should be undertaken where the radon concentration exceeds 200 Bq/m³.
The only way to know the radon concentration is to test it!

Mr. Lamarche installed a sub-slab depressurization system for us a couple of years ago and successfully brought down radon levels well below thresholds set by Health Canada. He was extremely professional, thorough and trustworthy, and work was completed in a timely manner. Cost was exactly as quoted. Highly recommend to anyone in need of radon mitigation.
It was a pleasure to deal with CSL Radon. Compared to other quotes I received, Coby took the time to visit the house and reviewed what most likely needed to be done. The installation was extremely professional and the report is fantastic. I would highly recommend going with CSL Radon.
One of the "good guys"!
Friendly, knowledgeable, professional, conscientious, capable, logical, punctual, and most of all someone who tolerated all my never ending questions with wit and humour ending in a much appreciated course in physics and radon mitigation. A creative and cerebral problem solver who I would not hesitate to recommend to others.
